FAQ
Heat, wood and ventilation
The three things that decide whether pyrography is a craft or a hazard.
Ordering and delivery
What does delivery cost and how long does it take?
Free on orders of ₹1,499 and above, otherwise a flat ₹69 anywhere in India. We pack within 1-2 business days in Jaipur and transit runs 3-8 business days — 3-5 business days to a metro, 5-8 business days further out. Door to door, plan for 4-10 business days.
How can I pay?
UPI in advance, or Cash on Delivery. Cards are not accepted — no credit card payments, no debit card payments, and no PayPal.
How do I track my order?
A tracking link is emailed and texted to you on the day of dispatch. Courier scans can lag a day, especially over a weekend.
Returns and problems
Can I return something I have changed my mind about?
Yes, within 10 days of delivery, provided it is unused and still in its original packaging with the invoice. Full conditions are on the Refund and Returns Policy page.
What if it arrives broken or does not work?
Film the unboxing, then tell us within 48 hours. We replace it or refund it in full and we pay the return shipping. To be clear about what that is: a replacement route for an item that arrived damaged or dead, not a six-month or manufacturer warranty, and we do not claim to offer one.
Burning a clean line
Which wood should I burn on?
Basswood first — it is pale, even-grained and takes a line without wandering. Birch ply is a good second. Avoid pine, where the hard and soft grain burn at very different rates, and never burn MDF or treated timber: both release fumes you should not be breathing.
How thick should wood-burning paste go on?
Far thinner than most people expect — a coat you can still see the grain through. Applied thickly it keeps burning after the heat is removed, which is how a clean line becomes a scorched blob.
What ventilation do I need?
An open window and moving air at minimum, and never a closed room. Smoke from any burning surface is an irritant, and the fine smoke from paste sits at exactly head height when you are bent over a board.
Do you sell pyrography pens or burners?
Not at present — we stock pastes, stencils and reference books. Buy a burner where you can hold it; the weight and the grip matter more than the wattage on the box.
Do you have a shop I can visit?
No — we are online only, with no walk-in counter. Everything is packed and dispatched from our Jaipur, Rajasthan workspace, and we answer during Monday – Saturday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM IST. Closed on Sundays and public holidays.
Not covered here? Write to experience@casaluxeparlor.shop and a person will answer during Monday – Saturday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM IST. Closed on Sundays and public holidays.
