Basswood, birch ply, pine — and the surfaces to avoid. MDF and treated timber give off fumes you should not be breathing, and we say so on the listing.

Anything that produces smoke is sold with the ventilation it needs printed on the page rather than buried in a manual nobody opens.

Paste tubs are sealed, bagged and then packed upright in a moulded insert, because a tub that travels on its side leaks past the lid however well it is closed.

Once a paste tub is opened it cannot be resold, and a stencil that has been used carries residue. Sealed and unused, it comes back without argument.

Which surface are you burning?
Basswood, pine and MDF behave completely differently under heat — and MDF should not be burned at all. Ask before you order.
